Blake Short

Blake ShortPresident

Blake Short is the President of the Madera Police Officers’ Association (MPOA), where he advocates for the rights, benefits, and working conditions of Madera PD officers. Having served on the MPOA board for the past four years as Secretary and Treasurer, Blake brings a wealth of experience to his leadership role. Born and raised in California’s Central Valley, he has a strong, personal connection to the community he serves. With a solid background in policing and a deep commitment to community safety, Blake has dedicated his career to improving the welfare of officers while fostering trust and collaboration between law enforcement and the public.

In 2024, Blake established the Police Officers’ Foundation (MPOF) to further strengthen community partnerships. The Foundation focuses on supporting youth through educational scholarships and the promotion of youth sports, demonstrating our commitment to building a better future for the next generation.

Since joining the Police Department in 2017, Blake has held various roles, including Patrol Officer, Detective, and Corporal. He currently serves the Madera community as a Sergeant and is also a member of the department’s training staff as a range master, ensuring that officers have the skills and training necessary to serve with excellence and integrity.

About Madera Police Officers’ Association

The Madera Police Officers’ Association is 71 members strong. The objective of this association is to assist in promoting the professionalism of the police service; to represent the members of the association in all matters of wages, hours and conditions of employment; to encourage among the members a closer personal acquaintance and a friendly spirit of mutual cooperation; to encourage, contribute to and wherever possible, and to assist in all matters pertaining to welfare and advancement of all members of the Madera Police Officers Association.
