Man struck and killed by train in Madera

MADERA, Calif. (FOX26) — The Madera Police Department found a man dead after being hit by a train on Friday night. The Madera Police Department responded to a report of an incident in the area of North Gateway Drive and East Yosemite Avenue at around 9:20 p.m. There, they found a 59-year-old man lying next to the train tracks near East Yosemite Avenue who had been hit by a train. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The train conductor stayed and cooperated with the police. The incident has been transferred to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
